Discussion on development on Foreign Lands

I was heading the Indian delegation to a Conference of Finance Ministers of all Nations organised in Mauritius. I was suffering from cold and I had taken a tablet. Due to the drowsiness induced by the tablet, I was not in a position to realize where I was. I took rest for some time and requested for delaying my speech. Thereafter I spoke about global financial situation, ways to improve GDP growth rate of Developing Nations and how these Nations should prepare to face competition from Developed Nations. Everybody appreciated my speech.

Mauritius is now considered as haven to stash black money. But it was not so then. It used to command a lot of respect from other countries. It's only in recent years that it has become notorious.

Another Conference of Finance Ministers was held in Australia. I was heading the Indian delegation there too. India has to take responsibility and speak on behalf of other smaller developing nations. So it was a highly responsible assignment for me as I had to represent not only India but other countries also which did not have a voice. After every such Conference, the Indian High Commissioner would send a report to the Prime Minister on how the Indian Delegation represented India's concerns. I have the satisfaction of putting across India's Foreign Policy without giving scope for any ambiguity.
